About B.Sc Nursing

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc Nursing) at Sengunthar College of Nursing is a four-year undergraduate programme designed to shape compassionate, clinically skilled, and globally competitive nursing professionals. Affiliated with The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University (TNMGRMU) and approved by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) and Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council (TNNMC), this programme is one of the most respected nursing degrees in the state.

The curriculum integrates theoretical knowledge with extensive clinical training across 50+ affiliated hospitals, ensuring graduates are immediately job-ready. Students gain proficiency across all major nursing specialties — medical-surgical, obstetrics, paediatrics, community health, and mental health — before they receive their degree.

Our B.Sc Nursing graduates have gone on to work in premier hospitals across India and abroad, including institutions in the UAE, UK, Canada, and Australia. The programme is specifically structured to meet the requirements for international nursing licensure examinations including NCLEX-RN, NMC, and HAAD.

Eligibility Criteria

Who Can Apply?

  • 🎓 Must have passed 10+2 (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as core subjects from a recognised board (CBSE, State Board, ICSE, etc.).
  • 📊 Minimum aggregate of 45% marks in PCB subjects (40% for SC/ST/OBC candidates as per Tamil Nadu norms).
  • 🎂 Candidate must be at least 17 years of age at the time of admission and not more than 35 years (relaxation for reserved categories as per INC norms).
  • 🏥 Candidate must be medically fit as certified by a registered medical practitioner. Colour blindness may affect eligibility for certain clinical postings.
  • 📋 Admission is subject to TNMGRMU counselling for government quota seats and direct admission for management quota seats as per INC norms.
